BAHASA MELAYU:
Demi menjana minda terbuka, kita harus punya keterbukaan akal fikiran dalam menerima dan menilai setiap perkara. Contoh paling mudah, istilah 'liberal' boleh dilihat dari sudut positif jika mahu. Kena kajilah apa itu 'liberal' menurut bahasa. Sama juga maksud 'kebebasan', jika digunakan untuk menterjemahkan perkara-perkara positif, pasti positif jadinya.
Sebab itu saya tidak mudah melenting apabila terbaca ada komen di fb menyatakan, "Islam itu sudah tersedia liberal." Kerana antara nilai Islam itu sendiri adalah 'kebebasan'. Iaitu, membebaskan insan daripada perhambaan sesama makhluk dengan memperhambakan diri hanya kepada Allah SWT semata-mata.
Contoh mudah kedua untuk membentuk minda terbuka. Dalam kita menonton cerita, tidak semestinya menonton cerita yang sudah berlabel kisah dakwah. Cerita yang menyantuni kisah-kisah inspirasi dan membangun semangat, bagus juga untuk ditonton dan dikutip nilai-nilai positif terkandung dalamnya.
Sama juga lagu-lagu yang menjadi halwa telinga, tidak semestinya yang berlabel nasyid. Boleh juga dengar lagu-lagu Ramli Sarip, M. Nasir dan sebagainya. Namun, secara peribadinya untuk hiburan berbentuk lagu, saya lebih suka mendahulukan lagu-lagu nasyid.
Kerana selain genre tersebut, kebanyakkannya hanya bertumpu pada seseorang yang dicintai seperti teman wanita dan sebagainya. Malahan, dikhuatiri hingga tahap memuja-muja dan memuji-muji makhluk. Sedang kita Muslim terdidik hanya memuja serta mengagung-agungkan Allah SWT.
Maka, demi menjana minda yang terbuka serta tidak jumud. Usah terlalu mudah menghukum sesuatu perkara itu negatif. Kemudian dalam berhujah dan menyata pandangan, usah sesekali mengguna senjata label melabel. Dikhuatiri boleh meretakkan hubungan persaudaraan dan masyarakat. Paling runcing, timbul pula isu takfir (mengkafirkan) sesama Muslim. Nauzubillahi mindzalik. Buang yang keruh, ambil yang jernih.

ENGLISH:
In order to generate an open mind, we must have the openness of mind in receiving and evaluating each matter. The simplest example, the term of "liberal" can be seen from the positive side if you want. We need to study what is the 'liberal' meaning by language. Similarly, the meaning of 'freedom', if used to translate the positive things, positive sure it was.
That's why i do not easily get irritated when i came across some comments on fb stating, "Islam was already in place a liberal." Because the values of Islam is 'liberty'. And, freeing people from the slave of human to the slave of Allah.
A second simple example to form an open mind. When we watch the story, not only watch a story that has been labeled the story of da'wah. The inspiring stories and developing the spirit, it's good to watch and cited the positive values contained therein.
Entertainment like music into our ear everyday, not necessarily only to listen labeled nasyid songs. We also can listen to the songs like Ramli Sarip, M. Nasir and others. But my personally opinion, for entertainment in the form of a song, i prefer putting nasyid songs first.
For other genres song, mainly focusing on the person who is loved like a girlfriend and so on. In fact, the level of concern to laud and praise the creature. As Muslim, we are educated to worship and glorify Allah.
So, in order to generate an open mind and not rigid. Do not be too easy to judge things negatively. Then in view of arguing and said, do not ever use the weapon of labeling. These can cracking brotherhood and community relations. Most acute, there is the issue of takfir among Muslims. Nauzubillahi mindzalik. Let go the negative, take the positive.
